Bold. Strong. Beautiful. Aware. Marrying aesthetics and environment, founder Melissa Kolbusz designs handmade, wearable artwork from reclaimed and surplus materials. Salvaging components like rubber, alternator wire, tubing, and craft beer cans, WIRED creates one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces. Inspired by industrial wastelands, underwater creatures, and the Chicago music scene, these works combine a sharp edge with a soft touch, focusing on the future of design.

In 2010, Melissa’s pieces were featured at Ecochic Geneva at the United Nations, and she was commissioned to create jewelry for the EFFEN By Design series, transforming the vodka’s rubber labels into art. A passionate advocate for sustainability, she also led a seminar in St. Maarten, teaching teenagers to integrate sustainable design into their creative processes.
